About this plugin
The MPC Expansion: Alpha Juno brings the sonic character of Roland's legendary 1985 synthesizer into the MPC ecosystem, offering producers direct access to the Alpha Juno's distinctive preset library and synthesis architecture. This expansion captures the synth's warm, slightly aggressive character - particularly its rich chorus effects and brassy string pads that defined mid-80s pop and R&B production.
The plugin authentically models the Alpha Juno's sound engine rather than simply sampling its presets, delivering the responsive, somewhat colored tone that made the original hardware appealing despite its technical limitations. The interface mirrors the original's workflow, making it intuitive for those familiar with classic Roland gear.

Best suited for producers working in hip-hop, funk, and electronic genres seeking vintage 80s textures without resorting to sample-based approaches, this expansion excels at generating characterful pads, leads, and rhythmic synth layers. While not a comprehensive synthesis toolkit by modern standards, its focused, opinionated sound design makes it valuable for producers who appreciate the Alpha Juno's specific tonal palette and want quick access to its distinctive aesthetic within their MPC workflow.
