About this plugin
Chord Prism 2 is a MIDI effect and instrument plugin that streamlines harmonic composition by mapping chord progressions directly to a keyboard or controller. Rather than requiring knowledge of music theory or manual note selection, the plugin intelligently constrains input to valid notes within a chosen scale and chord, while applying real-time transposition as harmony shifts.
The core engine combines four complementary modules. The Chord Generator converts single keystrokes into full voiced chords with adjustable inversions and voicings across triads, sevenths, and ninths. Smart Scale provides adaptive note mapping that reorganizes itself based on active chords, keeping the performer's hand position consistent while the underlying pitches update. Multi Arp generates single-finger arpeggios with customizable directional and rhythmic variations. Step Sequencers overlay programmed patterns onto generated material, enabling polyrhythmic complexity and genre-specific grooves.

Instance Sync coordinates multiple plugin instances across a project, allowing simultaneous bass, melody, and harmonic layers to derive from the same harmonic foundation without manual alignment. This approach appeals to composers working rapidly in electronic music, hip-hop, and pop contexts where chord-locked textures streamline production workflow.
The technical implementation prioritizes accessibility without sacrificing depth. Beginners benefit from fixed mappings that prevent harmonic errors, while experienced musicians can exploit multi-instance layering and pattern combinations to generate sophisticated arrangements. The included preset library demonstrates practical applications across contemporary genres.
Chord Prism 2 occupies a distinct category between traditional MIDI tools and performance-oriented effects, succeeding primarily for producers seeking harmonic constraint rather than creative freedom.
