About this plugin
MCombMB represents MeldaProduction's ambitious take on multiband comb filtering, combining serial and parallel processing architectures within a single interface. The plugin divides your frequency spectrum into up to six independent bands, each equipped with four filters capable of producing comb, resonant, and notch characteristics. The flexibility to route these filters in series, parallel, or hybrid configurations allows for both surgical and experimental sound design.
The technical foundation centers on adjustable feedback within each filter stage, enabling everything from subtle phase-coherent coloration to extreme resonant peaks and destructive interference. Per-band limiters prevent runaway feedback while maintaining musical character. Phase inversion across channels adds genuine width manipulation rather than superficial stereo tricks.

MCombMB distinguishes itself through Melda's comprehensive modulation ecosystem. LFOs, envelope followers, audio level detectors, and pitch trackers can modulate nearly any parameter, transforming static processing into evolving textural spaces. This proves particularly valuable for producers seeking movement without automation busywork.
The interface prioritizes functionality over flash. A resizable, GPU-accelerated GUI includes real-time visualization of filter responses and modulation behavior. Sixteen times upsampling addresses the aliasing issues inherent to high-feedback comb structures.
This tool appeals most to sound designers, experimental musicians, and engineers working in electronic or contemporary classical contexts. While less essential for traditional mixing duties, it excels at generating shimmer, metallic textures, and spectral manipulation. Among comb-filtering options, MCombMB's multiband architecture and modulation depth position it as a sophisticated choice for those prioritizing sonic exploration over simplicity.
