About this plugin
MAutoEqualizer stands as a genuinely distinctive mastering tool that bridges the gap between manual parametric control and automated spectral matching. At its core lies a 10-band parametric equalizer paired with linear-phase processing options, but what separates it from conventional tools is the MeldaProduction Filter Adaption technology, which analyzes audio content and automatically configures equalizer settings rather than applying black-box spectral processing.
The plugin's architecture reflects thoughtful engineering: you're not working with opaque algorithmic results but rather seeing exactly how each parametric band responds to your source material. This transparency proves valuable when matching recordings to reference tracks, fitting individual elements into existing mixes, or simply visualizing equalization decisions against the input and output spectrum simultaneously.

The dual linear and minimum-phase algorithms accommodate different mixing scenarios. Minimum-phase processing introduces phase shift but delivers tighter, more musical results for general work, while linear-phase remains essential for critical mastering applications where phase coherence matters. The ability to manually draw desired frequency responses using MeldaProduction's Envelope System adds flexibility beyond automated analysis.
MAutoEqualizer works equally well across mixing and mastering contexts, though it particularly excels when consistency is paramount - ensuring album tracks maintain sonic coherence or when spectral matching between disparate sources is necessary. For engineers fatigued by lengthy manual EQ work or seeking an objective second opinion on tonal balance, this tool delivers genuine utility without sacrificing control. It represents a thoughtful approach to computer-assisted equalization, respecting both technical precision and the engineer's decision-making authority.
