About this plugin
Loopmasters' "Roni Size - Confessions of an Audio Addict" represents a curated effects collection built around the sonic philosophy of the Drum and Bass pioneer. Rather than presenting generic processing tools, this plugin bundle channels Size's documented approach to sound design - emphasizing clarity within dense mixes, precise frequency manipulation, and the integration of analog warmth into digital production environments.
The collection centers on carefully selected processors: a multiband compressor designed for surgical control across frequency ranges, reverb algorithms tuned toward spatial definition rather than wash, and saturation tools calibrated to add harmonic character without muddying transients. The signal flow architecture reflects practical studio workflow, allowing intuitive chaining and parallel processing configurations common to professional mixing scenarios.

What distinguishes this offering is its specificity. Rather than attempting universal applicability, Loopmasters has contextualized each tool within Size's production methodology - particularly his work with break-based music where maintaining rhythmic integrity alongside textural sophistication remains paramount. The presets avoid cosmetic naming conventions, instead documenting technical parameters and intended applications.
The plugin suits engineers working within fast, rhythmically complex genres where conventional processing often compromises definition. However, its underlying principles - controlled compression, transparent EQ, and judicious saturation - transfer effectively across genre boundaries for anyone prioritizing mix clarity over atmospheric treatments.
Positioned against competing artist-signature bundles, "Confessions of an Audio Addict" takes a more austere, function-forward approach. It assumes production experience and delivers tools rather than solutions, appealing to practitioners who value sonic intentionality over preset convenience.
