About this plugin
Reso Drum & Bass Intelligence stands as a specialized toolkit designed explicitly for the tonal shaping demands of drum and bass production. Developed by Loopmasters, the plugin combines resonant filtering with intelligent frequency targeting to address the genre's characteristic need for surgical precision across breakbeats and basslines.
At its core, the instrument employs multi-mode resonant filters paired with sidechain-responsive dynamics controls. The technical approach allows producers to isolate and emphasize specific frequency ranges within complex drum breaks while maintaining transient clarity - a critical requirement when working with samples running at 170+ BPM. The resonance algorithms exhibit a musical character that avoids the sterile quality common to purely analytical EQ tools, instead providing the slight coloration that D&B aesthetics typically demand.

The plugin's strength lies in its context-specific design. Rather than presenting generic filtering options, it includes presets and workflows optimized for the genre's established frequency architecture: aggressive sub-bass augmentation, mid-range punch refinement, and high-frequency detail extraction. The sidechain capabilities integrate seamlessly with drum triggers, enabling responsive tonal shifts that follow break dynamics.
For drum and bass producers and remix specialists, Reso represents genuine utility beyond novelty. Engineers working across other genres may find limited application, though the core filtering engine maintains sufficient flexibility for experimental sound design. Within its intended market, it occupies a defensible position as a focused alternative to generic multiband processors, offering faster workflow implementation and sonically cohesive results specific to fast breakbeat aesthetics.
