KHORDS

KHORDS is a sampled chord instrument that prioritizes immediate usability over deep synthesis. Rather than generating chords algorithmically, it builds around a curated library of 315 sampled chord and note sources organized into major, minor, and root/open categories. This foundational approach yields sonically cohesive results across its 550 presets, which span stabs, plucks, strums, pads, and atmospheric textures sourced through Loopmasters' established sampling network.

The plugin's core appeal lies in its straightforward workflow. A randomize function intelligently cycles through samples within your selected tonality, preventing the tonal drift that typically accompanies blind randomization. Keyboard retuning allows samples to transpose across the full range, preserving the character of the original recordings while adapting them to different harmonic contexts.

The synth engine handles manipulation efficiently without overwhelming complexity. Timestretch and formant shifting provide sample character modification beyond simple pitch transposition. The filter section offers genuine flexibility with 12 filter types, pre-drive, resonance, and key tracking parameters. Standard ADSR envelopes on amplitude and filter, coupled with an LFO featuring selectable shapes and trigger modes, support subtle movement and character shaping. Effects processing includes six chorus algorithms, three delay variants, and six reverb spaces, while the mod wheel can target four assignable parameters.

KHORDS suits producers prioritizing quick, reliable chord layers over extensive sound design.
