About this plugin
LIFTFX is a synthesized riser and build-up generator from Boom Plugins that addresses a persistent workflow problem in modern music production. Rather than relying on stretched samples or layered acoustic recordings, the plugin generates dynamic tension elements in real-time using synthesis, offering granular control over every parameter without the artifacts that plague time-stretched audio.
The core strength lies in its automation-friendly architecture. Users can manipulate direction, duration, and temporal behavior across 275 included presets, with full modulation via MIDI CC and the mod wheel. This flexibility makes it equally useful for creating a 16-bar cinematic swell or a 2-bar EDM drop transition. The beat-sync feature ensures risers lock to project tempo automatically, eliminating manual alignment work.

Sonically, LIFTFX delivers the characteristic high-frequency sweeps and harmonic builds essential to trailer composition, electronic music, and broadcast design. The synthesis engine produces clean, pitched materials that sit well in dense mixes without requiring heavy processing to achieve clarity.
The plugin's value proposition centers on speed without sacrificing control. Rather than deconstructing sample-based approaches or designing risers from scratch in a synthesizer, producers can audition variations within seconds, then refine using the modulation system. This positions LIFTFX between template libraries and full synthesis environments.
It requires free iLok.com registration but not a physical dongle. The interface prioritizes playability over preset diving, making it accessible for users seeking quick, professional results alongside engineers wanting deeper parameter exploration. For anyone regularly producing music requiring dynamic tension architecture, LIFTFX consolidates a common production task into one focused tool.
