About this plugin
Composer is an AI-assisted composition plugin that generates chord progressions, melodies, basslines, and arpeggios directly within your DAW. Rather than functioning as a standalone instrument, it operates as an integrated tool for MIDI creation, allowing users to generate harmonic and melodic material and export it as editable MIDI patterns.
The plugin's core strength lies in its approach to harmonic generation. It produces chord progressions and individual voicings with customizable complexity, eliminating the need for music theory knowledge. The MIDI generation engine creates performances for generated progressions with adjustable parameters including polyphony and humanization, providing control over how mechanical or organic the output feels. Users can refine results through a chord progression editor that allows repositioning and modification of generated material.

Composer integrates directly with your DAW via sync functionality and offers drag-and-drop MIDI export to the piano roll. This workflow reduces friction between ideation and implementation. A Scenes and Song Mode feature enables organization of multiple musical ideas into larger arrangements, though this remains basic compared to dedicated arrangement tools.
The plugin suits producers seeking rapid harmonic scaffolding during early composition stages, particularly those without extensive music theory training. It functions best as an inspiration tool rather than a replacement for intentional composition work. Compared to competitors, Composer positions itself as accessible and streamlined, emphasizing integration over sonic character or advanced algorithmic control. Its effectiveness depends largely on how extensively you edit generated material and whether its harmonic output aligns with your musical style.
