About this plugin
Kuassa's EFEKTOR WF3607 Wah Filter is a comprehensive envelope and resonant filter plugin that draws inspiration from two historically significant effect categories: the dynamic wah pedals pioneered by Dunlop and Vox, and the envelope-following filters that emerged from synthesizer design. The plugin combines both approaches into a single processor, offering six distinct filter modes that each capture specific tonal characteristics.
The three wah modes ( Cry Baby, Grey Wah, and Axis Wah ) model classic guitar effect units with their characteristic peaked resonance curves, while the three envelope filters ( Low Pass, Band Pass, and High Pass ) provide more surgical tonal shaping with envelope-responsive sweeping. This hybrid approach gives producers and engineers genuine flexibility across genres where dynamic filtering adds expression and movement.

The WF3607 distinguishes itself through deep parameter editing beyond what hardware pedals typically offer, allowing fine-tuning of sweep range, sensitivity, and resonance characteristics. MIDI expression controller support enables true real-time manipulation, making it equally valuable for performance-ready setups and detailed studio work. Stereo linking facilitates cohesive filtering across multiple channels or width-based effects.
This plugin serves producers working across electronic music, alternative rock, and experimental genres where expressive tonal modulation remains essential. While specialized envelope followers and filter plugins exist, the WF3607's dual architecture and solid modeling of recognized hardware references makes it a practical all-in-one solution. The learning curve is moderate, requiring some familiarity with filter behavior to unlock its potential effectively.
