About this plugin
Kuassa's Amplifikation ARKHIVE is a meticulously modeled recreation of the Mesa Boogie Mark V amplifier, delivered as a plugin with genuine fidelity to the hardware original. The three-amp architecture mirrors the Mark V's channel structure precisely: Amp A handles clean territories with Clean, Fat, and Tweed voicings; Amp B tackles mid-gain textures through Edge, Crunch, and Overdrive modes; Amp C commands high-gain territory with multiple voicings and an Extreme mode for maximum saturation. Each amp includes dedicated mod options that expand tonal possibilities without cluttering the workflow.
The signal path includes a five-band parametric EQ, sag and bias controls on the power amp section, and both high-pass and low-pass filters. Cabinet modeling draws from impulse responses of five distinct enclosures, with nine microphone options positioned in dual-mic configurations offering mono or stereo outputs. A noise gate and limiter handle practical studio concerns, while up to 8x oversampling addresses aliasing at high sample rates.

ARKHIVE succeeds because it respects the original's complexity without overwhelming users. The single-screen interface presents controls logically, making the plugin accessible during tracking while remaining deep enough for serious tone-crafting. This positions it as essential gear for metal and hard rock producers, though the clean and mid-gain channels serve alternative and classic rock applications equally well.
Among Mark V plugins, ARKHIVE's cabinet modeling and microphone flexibility distinguish it from competitors. For engineers already familiar with the hardware, this translation is sufficiently accurate to streamline workflow and familiar enough to feel intuitive from day one.
