About this plugin
KORG Collection 6 represents a significant expansion of an already comprehensive software synthesis platform, adding three historically important instruments to an already substantial library. The upgrade brings the PS-3300, a ferociously rare analog polysynth from the late 1970s with a sound engine of extraordinary density, alongside the TRINITY workstation that defined KORG's commercial synthesis direction in the 1990s. The inclusion of the SGX-2 piano engine provides serious sampling-based keyboard capability for producers prioritizing authentic acoustic textures.
For existing Collection 5 users, the upgrade path offers clear sonic expansion without redundancy. The PS-3300 modeling particularly stands out, successfully capturing the dense, saturated harmonic character of a synthesizer that had virtually no contemporary competition in raw polyphonic capability. The TRINITY recreation respects the original's TouchView interface while adapting it intelligently for modern DAW integration. The SGX-2 delivers concert grand piano samples that hold their own against dedicated piano plugins, with the advantage of seamless workflow integration within the larger collection ecosystem.

This remains primarily a synthesis and sampled instrument collection rather than an effects processor in the traditional sense, though each recreated instrument includes period-appropriate signal processing. The upgrade justifies itself for users whose production involves vintage keyboard sounds spanning multiple eras, from analog synthesis through 1990s digital workstations. The modeling quality remains consistently high across the library, making Collection 6 a practical first-call option for producers seeking authentic vintage keyboard character without the space, maintenance, or financial burden of original hardware.
