About this plugin
Native Instruments' Komplete Select Band edition represents a disciplined approach to virtual instrumentation for songwriters and live arrangement work. Rather than pursuing breadth across production styles, this bundle concentrates resources on acoustic and electric instruments optimized for organic composition and performance contexts.
The core value centers on session instruments built for iteration. Scarbee Rickenbacker Bass provides authentic low-end articulation with nuanced fingering dynamics, while Session Guitarist - Strummed and Acoustic Soul Sessions handle harmonic content with convincing strum patterns and fingerpicking variations. These tools bypass the synthesis-heavy workflow typical of electronic production bundles, instead offering players intuitive gestural control that rewards musical thinking over parameter tweaking. The inclusion of Studio Drummer with Disco & Funk and Leap expansions adds rhythmic foundation with authentic swing and genre-specific pocket.

For mixing, Guitar Rig 7 LE handles amp and effects coloration with enough depth for convincing guitar processing, while the Solid series compressor, dynamics, and EQ provide transparent mixing fundamentals. iZotope's Nectar 4 Elements and Ozone 12 Elements round out vocal and master bus treatment with industry-standard algorithms.
This edition appeals specifically to producers working in band arrangements, singer-songwriters, and composers prioritizing acoustic instrumentation. It lacks Komplete Select Beats' focus on drum synthesis and Select Electronic's synth depth, making it less suitable for electronic music production. The $99 price point with $99 credit toward Komplete 26 Standard positions it as a legitimate entry point rather than a feature-limited trial, though experienced producers will eventually outgrow its scope.
