About this plugin
REAMP is a saturation processor that approaches analog gear simulation through measured spectral response data rather than circuit modeling. Klevgrand measured seven analog devices across gain levels from negative infinity to +6dB and across the full audible frequency spectrum, using this two-dimensional dataset to create transforms that shape incoming audio. The result is a saturation tool with a distinctly different character from convolution-based or traditional nonlinear processing approaches.
The plugin's four-band spectral drive section allows independent saturation control across frequency ranges, enabling surgical tonal shaping beyond what single-curve saturation offers. This granular control proves valuable when targeting specific problem frequencies or sculpting harmonic character in isolation. The dry/wet mix facilitates parallel saturation workflows, a practical feature for maintaining transient definition while adding harmonic density.

CPU efficiency stands as a genuine technical achievement here. The spectral approach introduces negligible latency, making REAMP suitable for tracking and mixing workflows where round-trip monitoring or real-time performance matters. This contrasts with heavier convolution engines that demand greater computational resources.
The seven included models represent gear Klevgrand's developers genuinely use, suggesting a curated approach rather than exhaustive coverage. For engineers seeking saturation beyond standard soft-clipping algorithms, particularly those working in electronic music production or detailed mixing contexts, REAMP offers a credible alternative. The spectral methodology appeals to users who value technical transparency and measurable accuracy over marketing claims about "warmth" or "vintage character." It positions itself as a practical tool for professionals rather than a nostalgic coloration device.
