Haaze v2 is a multiband stereo imaging tool that addresses a fundamental limitation in conventional mixing: the inadequacy of simple L-R panning for creating natural spatial placement. Where traditional panning produces artifacts that collapse under headphone listening, Haaze employs frequency-dependent delay, panoramic positioning, and width control across 16 discrete bands to simulate realistic acoustic behavior.

The plugin's technical foundation rests on the Haas effect - exploiting the precedence principle whereby the ear localizes sound toward whichever channel arrives first. By independently delaying left and right channels within each frequency band, Haaze creates directional cues that feel spatially coherent rather than artificially widened. This approach extends beyond simple stereo widening; the Pan mode allows band-by-band panoramic placement while the width mode (functioning as a multiband M/S processor) lets engineers maintain focused low-end while expanding high-frequency stereo imagery.

Haaze v2 proves especially valuable for mono source material - drums, vocals, bass lines - that require natural positioning within a stereo field without losing cohesion. It's equally useful for corrective work, narrowing problematic over-compressed stereo sources or expanding thin recordings. The inclusion of per-band gain compensation addresses level fluctuations introduced by processing, while the draw mode enables intuitive curve plotting rather than tedious parameter adjustment.
