About this plugin
iZotope's RX Post Production Suite 8.7 Educational Version delivers professional-grade audio restoration and repair tools at an accessible price point for students and educators. The suite's core strength lies in its spectral processing engine, which visualizes audio as a 3D frequency map, enabling surgical removal of clicks, hums, broadband noise, and dialogue issues without affecting musical content. Advanced modules like Voice Leveler, De-esser, and Mouth De-clicker address post-production's most persistent problems with minimal artifacts.
The technical approach prioritizes transparency, using machine learning to distinguish between signal and noise rather than relying on threshold-based gating. This makes RX particularly valuable for dialogue editing and restoration work where traditional dynamics processing fails. The suite integrates seamlessly with DAWs via plugin format while maintaining its standalone capabilities for batch processing and forensic analysis.
