About this plugin
iZotope's RX Post Production Suite 8.6 represents a serious consolidation for audio professionals already invested in the RX ecosystem. This crossgrade path acknowledges that Standard users often outgrow their initial tier, making the upgrade to the full Suite a natural progression rather than a complete repurchase.
The Suite bundles RX Core (the restoration backbone) with modules addressing the complete post production chain: dialogue isolation, spectral repair, click and crackle removal, and de-esser functionality. Version 8.6 maintains iZotope's established approach - combining machine learning with traditional DSP to identify and surgically remove unwanted elements while preserving source material integrity. The spectral editing interface remains the industry reference point for visual problem-solving in mastering and post work.

What distinguishes this tier is the addition of advanced modules like Voice Isolation and Music Rebalance, tools that leverage neural processing for source separation. While these can feel like party tricks in careless hands, skilled engineers find genuine utility in dialogue extraction from composite recordings or selective mixing adjustments on stems.
The crossgrade specifically targets users who initially settled for Standard but now handle complex restoration jobs, broadcast requirements, or film post work. Competing suites from Waves and Algoriddim offer alternatives, but RX remains the reference standard for spectral restoration, particularly in post production environments where archival restoration or dialogue cleanup demands precision.
