About this plugin
IK Multimedia's Fender Collection 2 delivers faithful digital emulations of seven classic tube amplifiers spanning the 1950s and 1960s, each paired with period-correct cabinet models. The plugin focuses on Fender's foundational designs: the tweed-era '57 Custom series (Twin, Pro, Deluxe, Champ, and Bandmaster), alongside the '53 Bassman and '65 blackface Super Reverb. These models represent the amplifiers that fundamentally shaped electric guitar and bass tone across multiple genres.
The emulation approach captures the nonlinear behavior and transformer saturation characteristic of tube circuits without requiring deep technical knowledge from the user. Each amplifier offers complete control over gain staging, EQ, and output level, allowing producers to dial in everything from clean articulation to fully compressed breakup. The cabinet selections accommodate various impedance and frequency response profiles, enabling tonal shaping beyond the amp stage alone.

This collection serves producers working across rock, blues, country, and alternative music who require convincing vintage amplifier character without committing studio space or capital to hardware. While software amp modeling has matured considerably, Fender Collection 2 distinguishes itself through official Fender partnership and historically accurate circuit representation rather than generic approximations.
The plugin integrates seamlessly within AmpliTube's broader ecosystem but functions as a standalone tool in most DAWs. For engineers prioritizing authentic American tube amp DNA over experimental sound design, this remains a practical core component of any modern production toolkit.
