About this plugin
Hertz Drums 2 represents a genuinely comprehensive approach to virtual drumming that consolidates drum replacement, sample-based synthesis, and groove sequencing into a single cohesive environment. The Rock Bundle extends this core toolkit with substantial additional content: 20 specialized rock drum kits, expanded percussion libraries totaling 15 kicks, 12 snares, and 15 toms, plus 520 additional MIDI grooves tailored to rock production contexts.
What distinguishes Hertz Drums 2 from comparable tools is its integration of a fully customizable virtual kit engine with an advanced sampler, eliminating the typical workflow friction between sample selection and sonic shaping. The humanization module specifically addresses the mechanical quality that plagues many virtual drums, allowing producers to inject timing variance and dynamic nuance without abandoning quantized precision. Independent ADSR, ambience, and effects processing on each kit piece provide granular control when needed, while pre-configured presets deliver immediately usable rock tones for producers prioritizing workflow speed.

The software handles both audio replacement duties and MIDI sequencing equally well, supporting native e-drum integration and third-party drum map compatibility. This flexibility makes it suitable for bedroom producers tracking live drums alongside experienced engineers processing multitrack sessions.
The Rock Bundle specifically targets the rock idiom with kit selection and groove collections that emphasize the sonic preferences of that genre. Among existing drum tools, Hertz Drums 2 occupies a practical middle ground between purely sample-based approaches and synthesis-heavy alternatives, trading some sonic originality for operational efficiency and out-of-the-box usability.
