About this plugin
Mosaic Leads represents Heavyocity's refinement of sampling-based synthesis for contemporary film scoring and electronic composition. Built on the Kontakt 6.6.1 engine, the instrument organizes 1,349 samples across a three-channel architecture designed to encourage layering and textural experimentation rather than single-preset solutions.
The core philosophy centers on deconstructed analog synthesis: 100 unique sources split between "Beauty" leads (30 samples emphasizing musicality and warmth), "Beast" sources (30 samples with aggressive character), and supplementary layers for noise and attack transients. This modular approach allows composers to combine disparate elements into cohesive hybrid timbres, a practical necessity for scoring work where lead sounds frequently require customization across different cues.

The Mosaic Engine's three-channel design with integrated arpeggiator and macro control system facilitates both rapid prototyping and deep sound design. The macro knob particularly addresses a common workflow friction point by mapping multiple parameters simultaneously, reducing menu diving during composition. Over 200 preset snapshots provide legitimate starting points rather than finished sounds, acknowledging that scoring applications demand context-specific tailoring.
Mosaic Leads occupies a specific niche within the broader sample library landscape. It's less suited for producers seeking out-of-the-box character sounds and more aligned with composers prioritizing architectural flexibility and layering depth. The uncompressed sample count and NKS integration suggest professional-grade integration rather than casual experimentation. For engineers comfortable with sampling synthesis and iterative sound design, this instrument addresses genuine scoring needs where lead sources require both tonal statement and textural sophistication.
