About this plugin
Heavyocity's DM-307 is a drum synthesis and sequencing instrument designed for contemporary music production across electronic, hip-hop, industrial, and cinematic domains. The plugin centers on the Grid, a 5-voice drum machine with 8 programmable step patterns that enables rapid beat construction through a straightforward click interface. Rather than traditional drum machine design, the Grid operates as a modular performance tool, allowing users to stack up to 5 grid presets within a single multi and control each voice independently through dedicated FX chains, modulators, and envelope generators.
The sound library comprises over 3,600 drum and percussion sources - spanning modular synthesis, acoustic percussion, and processed analog drum machines - organized into 1,500+ presets and 180+ kit groove templates. A significant portion of the preset library draws from contributions by electronic producers including Kaiserdisco and Pirupa, alongside cinematic composers such as Joe Trapanese and Jason Graves, which effectively positions the plugin across both dance music and film scoring applications.

Sonically, DM-307 emphasizes processed, contemporary textures rather than vintage drum machine authenticity. The three-tier effects architecture - master-level processing, per-voice ADSR and filtering, plus the proprietary Advanced Trigger FX for modulation - facilitates both subtle tonal refinement and aggressive sound design. Automatic tempo sync and drag-and-drop MIDI export streamline workflow integration.
The plugin proves most valuable for producers seeking rapid beat generation with professional sound quality and cinematic versatility. Its strength lies less in emulation accuracy than in providing immediately usable, production-ready grooves paired with sufficient sonic control for customization without requiring deep synthesis knowledge.
