About this plugin
Minimonsta2 is GForce Software's second-generation virtual analog synth based on the classic Minimoog Model D architecture. The plugin faithfully reproduces the essential character of the original hardware - three oscillators, a four-pole resonant ladder filter, and snappy ADS envelopes - while substantially expanding sonic possibilities through modern software capabilities.
The core sound engine delivers the warm, characterful tones the Minimoog is known for, with precise oscillator waveforms and the distinctive feedback loop that defined early synthesis. However, Minimonsta2 extends far beyond nostalgic emulation. The addition of selectable four-stage envelopes, PWM modulation on the first oscillator, and an alternative bass-preserving ladder filter provides significantly more shaping options than the original hardware allowed.

What distinguishes this version is GForce's X-Modifier modulation system. The X-LFO and X-ADSR sections enable complex parameter automation across nearly every control, allowing users to move beyond static patches into genuinely evolving soundscapes. A new reverb effect, vintage analog character controls, and four programmable macros round out the feature set. The refreshed preset browser and over 300 new patches provide immediate sonic reference points.
The plugin suits producers and sound designers seeking both authentic vintage warmth and contemporary modulation depth. It functions equally well as a lead synth, bass generator, or source for textural experimentation. Among modern Mini derivatives, Minimonsta2 occupies a middle ground between purist emulation and radical enhancement, making it valuable for studios where tonal authenticity matters alongside creative flexibility.
