About this plugin
AIR Music Technology's Fabric Vintage Synths Vol. 2 delivers three iconic analog polysynths - the Andromeda, CS, and Matrix - as software instruments built on the company's multi-sample synthesis engine. Rather than pure modeling, the Fabric approach combines sampled waveforms from the original hardware with virtual analog processing, a hybrid that captures the characteristic warmth and harmonic complexity of vintage oscillators while avoiding some of the CPU demands of full circuit modeling.
Each synth occupies a distinct sonic territory. The Andromeda excels at evolving, textured pads and bass work with substantial character. The CS brings the liquid, responsive quality associated with its namesake, particularly suited for expressive lead work and atmospheric material. The Matrix rounds out the set with extensive modulation routing typical of its lineage, making it the most versatile for sound design-focused work.

Architecturally, all three share a unified Fabric engine featuring dual multi-sample oscillators, a sub oscillator, dual independent LFOs, and global filter and envelope sections. This consistency makes workflow intuitive for users jumping between instruments while maintaining each synth's individual voicing and modulation character.
The software targets producers and engineers seeking recognizable analog warmth without hardware maintenance or space constraints. It fills a practical middle ground between expensive emulations and thin virtual analogs, delivering genuine sonic character with reasonable CPU footprint. The collection works particularly well for electronic, ambient, and synthesis-forward genres where authentic vintage character matters but sample-based authenticity suffices over circuit-level modeling.
