About this plugin
Noisy 2 represents a significant evolution in the resonator-based synthesis category, building on its predecessor's noise-excitation premise with substantially expanded sonic architecture. The plugin uses noise sources to drive both acoustic modal resonators and analog-style filters, creating textures that sit distinctly between traditional subtractive synthesis and physical modeling.
The core upgrade introduces four new modal-acoustic resonators alongside enhanced noise generation with meticulously crafted waveform types, expanding the palette considerably. On the analog side, a new pulse-width modulation resonator joins four additional filter emulations and an upgraded soft clipper with feedback control, allowing users to push timbral character into warmer or more aggressive territory.

The bi-timbral layer architecture remains effective for creating complex presets, though the real strength here is the expression implementation. Noisy 2's updated MPE integration goes beyond standard per-note parameter control, enabling genuinely playable real-time sound manipulation across its four expression modules and effects chain. This makes it particularly suited for controllers like the Linnstrument or Seaboard, where gestural control can drive dynamic texture shifts and effect modulation simultaneously.
The 1,200 included presets split logically between MPE-optimized and controller-agnostic versions, providing immediate creative starting points without requiring deep sound design knowledge. For producers working with expressive controllers seeking organic, resonant textures that respond to nuanced playing dynamics, Noisy 2 delivers a competent alternative to granular or wavetable approaches, with a character distinctly its own.
