About this plugin
Bloom Vocal Choir is a sampled vocal instrument that addresses a specific production need: accessible choral composition without requiring extensive music theory knowledge or session singers. Excite Audio sampled multiple vocal registers from baritone through soprano, then organized the resulting 250 presets across eight categories spanning drones, full ensembles, melodic sequences, and rhythmic vocal textures. The plugin's core strength lies in its sequencer, which automatically keeps phrases in key and tempo with your session. This constraint - keeping samples locked to your project - eliminates timing and pitch negotiation but may feel limiting if you prioritize unconventional vocal processing or extreme key modulation.
The interface provides three effects and four macro controls for sound design work, though the preset architecture suggests most users will layer existing phrases rather than extensively reprocess them. A sample import function allows customization beyond the factory library.

Bloom Vocal Choir sits alongside Native Instruments Choir, VOCALOID, and dedicated kontakt libraries, but differentiates itself through its phrase-based sequencing approach rather than note-by-note synthesis or time-stretching. This makes it more suitable for producers seeking pre-composed vocal textures and film scoring atmospherics than for those building intricate vocal arrangements from scratch.
The tool works best in cinematic contexts - trailers, orchestral underscores, ambient music - where the preset-driven workflow accelerates production and the locked-in-time design prevents timing drift. It's less essential for pop production or genres requiring substantial vocal customization, but valuable when vocal layering and harmony stacking serve emotional or textural rather than narrative purposes.
