About this plugin
EastWest's Symphonic Choirs Platinum Plus represents a matured approach to choir synthesis that separates itself from competitors through genuine recording methodology and real-time flexibility. Rather than relying on concatenative synthesis or granular processing, the instrument builds on multisampled vocal phonemes captured at 24-bit resolution across three discrete microphone positions - close, stage, and hall - allowing users to construct natural choral textures without resorting to artificial reverb processing.
The integrated WordBuilder engine handles the heavy lifting of phonetic construction. Users type desired lyrics, specify key and octave ranges for each voice section, and the software generates articulate vocal lines in real time across soprano, alto, tenor, and bass ranges. Extended range specifications (Sopranos D3-E5, Altos F2-A4, Tenors C2-D4, Basses B0-D3) accommodate both traditional and contemporary scoring requirements. A customizable phrase library accelerates workflow for deadline-conscious producers.

The three microphone positions function as genuine mix controls rather than cosmetic options. Close miking emphasizes intelligibility and presence, stage position mirrors conductor perspective with natural reverb decay, and hall captures the ambient signature of the original recording venue. This three-point system yields convincing ensemble layering without phase complications that plague synthetic approaches.
Symphonic Choirs Platinum Plus suits composers and arrangers requiring credible choir parts that respond expressively to MIDI performance. Its direct integration with EastWest's broader orchestral library ensures cohesive timbral blending. While not a replacement for session singers, it functions as a reliable compositional and demonstration tool that bridges the gap between sequenced strings and human vocalists.
