About this plugin
EChannel represents a thoughtful approach to channel strip design, prioritizing workflow flexibility over feature bloat. The plugin's modular architecture and FlexiPath routing system address a genuine problem in mixing: different sources benefit from different processing orders. A vocal might need EQ before compression to control problem frequencies, while a drum track might require gating first to eliminate bleed. This reorderable signal chain - encompassing gate, compressor, and five-band parametric EQ - eliminates the rigid processing hierarchy that constrains many competing tools.
The sonic character leans toward transparency without sacrificing character. The gate module effectively handles multi-miked drums and unwanted noise without the artifacts common in simpler designs. The compressor offers practical dynamics control with integrated soft saturation and de-esser functionality, reducing the need for auxiliary plugins on vocals and cymbals. The parametric EQ provides surgical frequency manipulation across the full spectrum, essential for corrective and creative work alike. The output transformer emulation functions as the strip's secret weapon - it's subtle enough to disappear on clean sources yet capable of adding genuine analog character when pushed.
