About this plugin
Session Keys Electric W is a meticulously sampled recreation of the Wurlitzer 200A electric piano, one of the most distinctive and sonically versatile instruments in recorded music history. e-instruments sourced an original instrument and subjected it to specialist restoration before capturing its full acoustic character across two complementary recording scenarios: a direct "Studio" set emphasizing pristine line-level output, and a "Live" configuration that captures the instrument's interaction with its onboard speaker system, including cone breakup and acoustic resonance characteristics.
The plugin's core strength lies in its velocity sensitivity and tonal range. Early velocity layers deliver the silky, vibraphone-like sustain that defines the Wurlitzer's most celebrated applications in fusion and soul music, while higher velocities introduce natural distortion and aggression that defined its use in funk and disco productions. Beyond straightforward playback, the Pentamorph controller offers real-time morphing between fundamental tonal characteristics, providing intuitive sound design possibilities without sacrificing authenticity.

Session Keys Electric W functions both as a primary instrument and as a supporting texture layer, making it equally valuable for songwriting, arrangement, or mixing contexts. Producers working within genre spaces historically shaped by the Wurlitzer - neo-soul, modern funk, and retro-informed pop - will find the plugin's sonic specificity particularly useful. Those seeking a general-purpose electric piano should look elsewhere; this is unambiguously a specialist tool designed to replicate one instrument with precision rather than provide broad electric piano coverage. Among Wurlitzer software emulations, its dual recording perspective and restoration-focused sourcing distinguish it from simpler approaches.
