About this plugin
CineBrass Core is a comprehensive orchestral brass plugin designed specifically for cinematic and composition work. Built around Cinesamples' proprietary Adaptive Legato Engine, it provides intelligent legato transitions that respond dynamically to playing speed and velocity, allowing seamless performance of both deliberate, expressive phrases and rapid articulated passages without manual speed adjustments. This responsiveness to intent represents a meaningful departure from static legato engines that typically require manual compensation between tempo ranges.
The library comprises professional recordings from Sony's MGM Scoring Stage, capturing the full dynamic range and textural complexity of real brass sections. Recent updates added True Legato samples for trombone ensemble, expanding the harmonic possibilities for sustained passages. The plugin includes both brassy and mellow variants of ensemble patches, along with dedicated chords articulations for rapid harmonic movement.

A flexible mapping system allows extensive customization, enabling users to blend articulations through polyphonic keyswitching, velocity layering, or CC ranges. The accented legato control adds marcato, staccato, or spiccato characteristics to legato transitions, providing tonal variation without switching patches. Advanced controls within ensemble patches offer individual instrument section blending, granting mix-level refinement typically unavailable in standard brass libraries.
CineBrass Core occupies a strong position among orchestral brass tools, particularly for composers and engineers requiring responsive legato and rapid articulation switching in film and game scoring contexts. The combination of authentic sampled brass, intelligent legato response, and workflow-focused customization makes it valuable for professionals who prioritize musical responsiveness alongside sonic authenticity. It's less suitable for players seeking extensive solo articulation variety or specialized orchestral techniques.
