About this plugin
EastWest Sounds' Hollywood Orchestra Opus Edition Diamond represents the maturation of a sampled orchestral engine that has dominated film scoring and commercial music production for over a decade. Built on the proprietary OPUS architecture, this iteration delivers 944GB of content, including 130GB of newly recorded material sourced from professional session musicians and mastered by Academy Award winner Shawn Murphy. The sonic character reflects meticulous attention to instrument blending and space, with each section occupying a carefully calibrated frequency footprint that translates reliably across mixing environments.
The plugin's architecture prioritizes workflow efficiency alongside sound quality. The mood-responsive interface adapts its color scheme contextually, reducing cognitive load during extended composition sessions. Hollywood Orchestrator, the integrated composition assistant, employs algorithmic voicing to generate orchestral arrangements in real time, a feature that distinguishes this edition from conventional sample libraries. For engineers accustomed to traditional orchestral recording sessions, the OPUS engine's humanization and timing controls provide granular control over performance authenticity without sacrificing convenience.

The Diamond version consolidates three separate products - the full orchestra, solo instruments, and orchestrator tools - into a unified environment. This consolidation appeals primarily to composers and producers working in film, television, and high-budget advertising who require comprehensive orchestral capability without maintaining multiple plugin instances.
Among competitors like Spitfire Pro and Native Instruments Komplete, Hollywood Orchestra maintains particular strength in aggressive brass articulations and cohesive section blending. It remains an industry standard for good reason, though success ultimately depends on integration within your specific mixing and composition workflow.
