About this plugin
Cherry Audio's P-10 stands as a meticulously engineered recreation of SCI's landmark 1980 polysynth, capturing the sonic architecture that defined an era of synthesizer design. At its core lies faithful emulation of Curtis Electronics' 3340 oscillators and 3320 filters - the same components that gave the original its characteristically warm, slightly compressed harmonic character. The oscillator sync implementation reproduces that instrument's distinctly aggressive tonal shifts with notable accuracy, delivering the brittle, bell-like textures and screaming leads that shaped countless 1980s productions.
The P-10's flexibility extends beyond sonic nostalgia. The dual-layer architecture supports up to 16 voices per layer, accommodating both modern polyphonic demands and the original's dual-synth operational modes. The modulation architecture proves comprehensive: Poly Mod routes individual voice modulation paths with precision, while newly integrated Pressure Mod sections address polyphonic aftertouch implementation - a meaningful addition absent from the original hardware.

Cherry Audio's modernizations avoid superficial window dressing. The four-track step sequencer, velocity support, and keyboard split function as practical production tools rather than mere conveniences. The effects section and assignable LFO on the secondary panel extend sonic capabilities without compromising the character that makes this instrument sonically coherent.
Best suited for producers seeking authentic 1980s polysynth tones without the burden of maintaining aging hardware, the P-10 appeals equally to sound designers exploring sophisticated modulation structures. Among comparable vintage emulations, it distinguishes itself through uncompromising attention to filter behavior and oscillator character - the details that separate competent recreations from genuinely sonically credible instruments.
