About this plugin
The Cattaneo Pianos Bundle represents a thoughtfully layered approach to vintage piano emulation, combining two distinctly voiced instruments with a shared sonic philosophy centered on playability and character. The Upright Piano delivers an intimate, mid-forward timbre well-suited to singer-songwriter material and introspective scoring, while the Electric Piano offers a warmer, more ethereal interpretation of classic electric keyboard tones.
Both instruments prioritize tactile performance modeling over sample count alone. The inclusion of a dedicated HUMAN layer with pedal-responsive sustain samples and mechanical noise floor elevates the upright beyond standard sample playback. The architecture permits independent control across five channels - main piano sound, performance artifacts, swells, distortion, and a claviharp-derived color layer - allowing producers to dial in everything from period-authentic character to contemporary lo-fi aesthetics.

The tape section proves particularly useful for contemporary production contexts, offering six distinct cassette hiss profiles and wobble effects that integrate naturally rather than feeling grafted on. Supplementary controls include three pedal-assignable effect slots with compression, saturation, chorus, phaser, and Leslie options alongside reverb and delay algorithms.
This bundle appeals primarily to electronic music producers and composer-arrangers prioritizing workflow efficiency and sonic flexibility over exhaustive sound libraries. The design favors creative layering over isolated instrument fidelity, making it a practical choice for genre-agnostic projects where character matters more than verisimilitude. It occupies a meaningful middle ground between professional sample libraries and creative sound design tools.
