About this plugin
Brainworx's bx_digital V3 stands as the definitive mid-side equalizer for professional mixing and mastering. As the first commercially viable M/S EQ plugin, it has maintained its position through consistent refinement rather than gimmickry, with this latest iteration adding substantial tools without compromising its core sonic character.
The plugin operates across 11 parametric bands accessible in dual mono, stereo, or true mid-side configurations. What distinguishes bx_digital V3 is its unapologetic transparency. The ultra-low phase shift filters prioritize accuracy and clarity, making it an ideal choice for mastering and critical mixing work where coloration can obscure problems rather than solve them. The Bass and Presence Shifters employ a clever opposing boost-cut architecture across adjacent frequency ranges, preventing the spectral clustering that creates boomy or harsh results.

The new Dynamic EQ module elevates the utility significantly beyond basic de-essing. This frequency-conscious compressor and expander handles everything from sibilant control to selective bass tightening on individual tracks within a finished mix. The addition of notch filters, proportional Q curves, and extended high-frequency reach broadens the tool's scope without introducing unnecessary complexity.
The included stereo widener, mono-maker summation tool, and comprehensive metering options position bx_digital V3 as a complete spectral management solution. It's essential equipment for mastering engineers working across diverse material and mixing professionals who demand surgical precision. For those seeking character-driven EQs, this isn't the tool. For anyone requiring transparent, powerful mid-side control, it remains unmatched.
