About this plugin
Bloom Ensemble Mallets represents a thoughtful addition to Excite Audio's plugin ecosystem, offering producers a dedicated instrument for integrating tuned percussion into electronic and cinematic compositions. Available as a crossgrade for existing Bloom series owners, it transforms sampled loops and one-shots into playable mallet instruments across a curated collection of pianos, vibraphones, marimbas, glockenspiels, and bells.
The instrument's architecture centers on 250+ presets organized into functional categories: Full Ensembles layer multiple mallet sources for textural depth, while Solo presets isolate individual voices for precise melodic work. Separate High Energy and Low Energy categories provide tempo-appropriate sequencing, with Melodic presets offering pitched samples distributed across two octaves. The Experimental category leans toward abstract sound design applications. Performance control comes through four macros and three integrated effects, allowing real-time manipulation of resonance characteristics and spatial properties.

Sonically, Ensemble Mallets occupies the aesthetic territory of contemporary instrumental electronics - drawing inspiration from producers like Four Tet and Bonobo who emphasize organic warmth within digital frameworks. The resonant quality of struck percussion translates well into ambient, downtempo, and orchestral contexts without sacrificing the tactile responsiveness expected from expressive instruments.
The addition of sample import functionality extends its utility significantly, enabling producers to customize the instrument against their existing sound libraries. This proves particularly valuable for maintaining sonic coherence across sessions.
Ensemble Mallets works best for producers prioritizing melodic layers and rhythmic texture over percussive impact, and those already invested in Bloom products will find its integration seamless.
