About this plugin
SampleX V3 stands as BeatSkillz's most comprehensive vintage sampler emulation to date, delivering circuit-accurate modeling of classic hardware units through convolution-based impulse response capture. The plugin reconstructs the complete signal path of vintage samplers, from preamp saturation through analog and digital filtering stages, enabling both faithful recreation and creative reinterpretation of iconic machines.
The core feature set addresses the fundamental sonic characteristics that defined vintage sampling. The A/D section controls bit depth from 24-bit down to 4-bit resolution and sample rate from 96 kHz to 2 kHz, directly shaping harmonic content and aliasing artifacts. The Shift parameter elegantly handles aliasing without pitch modification, allowing precise dialing of that characteristic grit without compromising tuning. Drive modeling emulates the preamp saturation found in classic units like the E-mu SP-1200, capturing the harmonic compression and compression that results from intentional circuit overload.

New to Version 3 are resonant ladder filter topologies, stereo width controls supporting both standard and mid-side configurations, and an expanded sampler model library. The IR Machine toggle switches between convolution-based and traditional processing, accommodating both sonic accuracy and CPU efficiency.
SampleX V3 serves producers seeking authentic lo-fi aesthetics, sound designers pursuing vintage chip-sampler character, and engineers restoring or interpreting classic productions. Among similar tools, its strength lies in the granular attention to analog circuitry modeling rather than superficial bit-crushing. The plugin occupies practical middle ground between ultra-lightweight degradation tools and expensive hardware emulations, making it genuinely useful for contemporary production workflows requiring vintage texture without compromise.
