About this plugin
Tube Modulator is Audiority's comprehensive modulation suite that reconstructs the essential textures of analog tremolo, vibrato, and spatial effects from the late 1950s through the psychedelic era. The plugin combines seven distinct tremolo and vibrato circuits with three spatial position engines, all processed through Audiority's characteristic warm, colored signal path that adds harmonic saturation reminiscent of tube preamp stages.
The tremolo modes span from subtle bias modulation to aggressive optical and variable-mu compression-based designs, while vibrato circuits model the pitch-wobble characteristics that defined surf rock and vintage Fender amplifiers. The spatial effects set differentiates Tube Modulator from conventional modulation tools: a panner, rotary speaker simulator, and a particularly distinctive stereo wow and flutter engine that captures the degradation and instability of aged tape machines and spring reverb systems.

An integrated XY scope provides real-time visualization of amplitude and spatial position modulation, allowing engineers to assess modulation depth, rate interactions, and stereo imaging at a glance. The plugin's 11 selectable waveforms, parameter linking, and tempo synchronization accommodate both rhythmic precision and organic, unquantized motion.
Tube Modulator serves producers and mix engineers seeking authentic vintage character without sacrificing modern workflow integration. The colored-by-design approach distinguishes it from clinical modulation tools, though users seeking clinical transparency should engage the signal path judiciously. Among comparable vintage modulation suites, Tube Modulator's combination of multiple circuit topologies, spatial effects, and transparent automation makes it particularly valuable for sources requiring both movement and cohesive harmonic enrichment.
