Acid V is Arturia's circuit-accurate emulation of the Roland TB-303, the legendary bass synthesizer that became foundational to acid house and techno music. Rather than merely replicating the original hardware, Arturia has expanded the platform with modern production tools while preserving the sonic character that made the 303 iconic: punchy, resonant, and distinctly aggressive when pushed through the filter and resonance controls.

The core synthesis engine delivers the characteristic square and triangle waveforms alongside a 2-octave sub-oscillator, extending the low-end presence beyond the original's capabilities. The signature resonant low-pass filter remains the focal point, capable of producing the sweeping, squelchy sweeps and acid squeals that defined the genre. For authentic analog behavior, the hidden hatch panel allows micro-adjustments to component parameters, introducing subtle saturation and drift that mimics vintage unit characteristics.

The expanded 64-step sequencer represents the largest departure from the original, adding polymetric sequencing, pattern mutation, randomization, and scale quantization.
