About this plugin
Applied Acoustics Systems' Modeling Collection represents a significant consolidation for owners of multiple Pro Series instruments, bundling seven physical modeling tools into a cohesive software suite. This upgrade path makes sense for studios that have accumulated Strum GS-2, Chromaphone 2 or 3, Ultra Analog VA-3, String Studio VS-3, Lounge Lizard EP-4, Objeq Delay, and Multiphonics CV-1 separately, offering substantial savings while streamlining installation and management.
Physical modeling remains AAS's core strength, and this collection showcases the approach's practical advantages. Rather than relying on convolution or sample playback, these instruments generate sound through mathematical models of acoustic behavior. This yields responsive, dynamic instruments with minimal CPU overhead and small footprints - a genuine workflow benefit when working across multiple projects. The 1,800+ presets span electric pianos, analog synthesis, string instruments, and experimental textures, though serious users will find the modular architecture more valuable than preset depth.

The CV-1 Modular Synthesizer is the collection's centerpiece, offering a genuinely explorable modular environment for sound design beyond what preset-dependent tools provide. Its straightforward patching interface and comprehensive module library appeal to both newcomers and experienced synthesists seeking hands-on creative control.
This upgrade targets producers and engineers already committed to AAS's ecosystem who want consolidated access to versatile instruments. It's strongest for those valuing synthesis clarity and low-latency performance over convolution-based character, and for sound designers prioritizing interactive, responsive tools over static playback.
