About this plugin
Antelope Audio's VEQ-432C is a faithful digital recreation of the parametric equalizer that defined mastering practice from the late 1960s onward. Co-designed by the inventor of the parametric EQ itself, the original 432 became the standard tool for serious mastering engineers, and this plugin captures its particular sonic signature with considerable accuracy.
The three-band design operates with a straightforward philosophy: surgical precision without coloration. Each band offers full parametric control - frequency, gain, and Q - allowing you to make transparent adjustments across the spectrum. The plugin's restraint is its strength. Rather than imposing obvious character, it facilitates the kind of subtle sculpting that separates polished masters from merely good mixes. This makes it equally effective on mix buses and individual tracks where precision matters.

The sonic character is notably clean and neutral compared to many modern mastering EQs. There's no built-in saturation or harmonic enhancement - the 432 approach assumes your mix already sounds excellent and needs only refinement, not reinvention. This philosophy either resonates with your workflow or it doesn't. For engineers accustomed to transparent, phase-coherent processing, the VEQ-432C delivers exactly what the original promised.
Available in native and Synergy Core versions, the plugin integrates seamlessly into contemporary DAWs while maintaining the analog precision that made the hardware unit indispensable. It's not the tool for coloring or healing problematic sources - it's for the final polish on work that's already well-crafted. That specificity is precisely why it remains relevant.
