About this plugin
The MG4+ is a software recreation of the legendary Series 500 hardware EQ module, one of the most widely used mastering and vocal processors across professional studios since the early 2000s. Antelope Audio's Synergy Core Native implementation captures the original's defining characteristic: linear phase operation that preserves phase relationships across the frequency spectrum, eliminating the phase artifacts that plague conventional analog-style EQs.
The plugin's 6-band topology centers around the celebrated Sky Band, a presence peak designed specifically for vocal enhancement. This frequency region imparts the polished, expensive sheen characteristic of major label productions without introducing harshness or brittleness. The new Sky Gain parameter adds meaningful flexibility beyond the original hardware, allowing independent control over the presence region's intensity and character.

The MG4+ excels on vocals, but its linear phase behavior and transparent tone make it equally effective across drums, guitars, and mix bus processing. The combination of surgical precision and musical coloration distinguishes it from clinical linear phase tools while avoiding the phase issues associated with traditional analog designs.
Engineers accustomed to the original hardware will find the digitization faithful to the source material, translating the intuitive interaction and immediate sonic gratification that made the Series 500 an industry standard. For mixing and mastering professionals seeking transparent yet characterful EQ with proven vocal enhancement capabilities, the MG4+ represents an accessible entry point to this lineage. The plugin's compatibility across major DAWs via Antelope's Native platform further extends its practical utility.
