About this plugin
The LANG-PEQ2 is a meticulous digital recreation of a 1960s solid-state parametric equalizer that has maintained its grip on professional studios for over six decades. Unlike many vintage EQ emulations that prioritize nostalgic coloration, this plugin captures the precise, surgical character that made the original hardware indispensable across tracking, mixing, and mastering applications.
The plugin's defining feature is its expanded frequency control architecture. Rather than locking you into fixed boost and cut frequencies like its predecessors, the PEQ2 allows independent selection of separate low-frequency boost and cut points, providing surgical control over problematic resonances while simultaneously enhancing desirable low-end weight. This dual-knob approach yields a tight, controlled low end that rarely sounds thin or compromised - a particular asset when tracking and mixing bass guitars, where definition and presence must coexist.

The high-end bands deliver the luminous, airy quality the original was known for, making them exceptionally effective on vocals and drum overheads. Mid-range sculpting provides enough width to prevent that characteristic honky quality of lesser parametric designs.
The LANG-PEQ2 occupies an important middle ground between Pultec-style shelving EQs and graphic designs. It offers considerably more frequency flexibility than the VEQ-1A tube model while maintaining an organic, musical response that resists the clinical sterility of purely algorithmic EQs. For engineers accustomed to hardware parametric EQs, the plugin's workflow and sonic behavior will feel immediately familiar. Available as both a native plugin and Synergy Core real-time version, it integrates seamlessly into contemporary DAW environments.
