About this plugin
Ample Guitar SJ delivers a convincingly sampled Gibson SJ-200 acoustic guitar that stands out for its meticulous attention to both tonal character and performance realism. The underlying sample library captures the instrument's signature warmth and projection across multiple microphone positions, essential for achieving the natural spatial character that distinguishes high-end acoustic samples from thin, isolated recordings. Multi-articulation sampling includes both fingerpicked and strummed approaches, providing genuine tonal variation depending on playing technique.
What separates Ample Guitar SJ from competing libraries is Riffer 4, a MIDI editor purpose-built for plucked instruments rather than retrofitted from piano roll conventions. The dual view system allowing simultaneous Piano Roll and Guitar Tab editing addresses a genuine workflow gap, letting users think in either notation paradigm. More significantly, the String Visualization System actively constrains MIDI writing to acoustic guitar realities, preventing impossible polyphony on single strings and applying intelligent fingering logic. This technical foundation results in performances that sound authentically constrained by the instrument's physical properties rather than electronically idealized.

The Strum Note interface treats chord articulations as unified objects with editable velocity gradients and legato parameters, acknowledging that real strummers don't trigger individual notes with equal emphasis. For producers and arrangers, this substantially reduces the tedium of humanizing chord passages.
Ample Guitar SJ suits composers requiring convincing acoustic textures without recording sessions, and engineers seeking authentic fingering behavior in MIDI-based workflows. While premium sampling libraries exist in this space, few combine this level of performance-aware editing with genuinely musical default behavior. The plugin represents a meaningful step toward bridging the gap between sample-based and played acoustic guitar.
