About this plugin
Ample Sound's Peregrine Falcon represents a refinement of their virtual guitar approach, delivering a convincing emulation of a high-end PRS Custom 24 Artist with particular strength in articulation nuance and tonal versatility. The plugin models three discrete pickup positions that capture the characteristic voice of the instrument across a broad frequency spectrum, from transparent cleans through saturated lead tones without sonic artifacts common to lesser implementations.
The technical architecture centers on Ample's Riffer 4 engine, which handles MIDI interpretation with attention to authentic playing techniques. The dual view system - simultaneously displaying both piano roll and tablature representations - provides tangible workflow benefits for composers working across different musical disciplines. String visualization that enforces realistic polyphonic constraints prevents the common mistake of layering notes across identical strings, a detail that meaningfully impacts realism.

Sonically, the Peregrine Falcon excels in fusion and progressive contexts where articulation clarity matters. The amp and cabinet modeling shows restraint, avoiding the processed character that plagues some guitar emulations. Legato transitions respond naturally to velocity and timing variations, and the chord strumming system produces human-like timing variations without resorting to awkward key-switch navigation.
The plugin suits producers needing reliable rhythm guitar textures alongside expressive solo capabilities. Compared to competitors, it prioritizes performance authenticity over vast preset libraries. For engineers integrating virtual guitars into rock, pop, and fusion arrangements where detail preservation is essential, Ample Guitar Peregrine Falcon occupies a credible position among professional-grade tools, though success depends heavily on compositional choices and mixing integration.
