About this plugin
Ugritone's Ampenstein bundle consolidates three distinct amp simulations into a single plugin architecture, each voiced for specific metal applications. The Black Metallier targets atmospheric black metal tones with emphasis on clarity and spatial character, the DAIM100 delivers high-gain aggression suited to modern extreme metal, and the Dual Retkifire (based on the Rectifier topology) provides the classic high-saturation character essential to contemporary metal production.
Each amp simulation includes ten pedal emulations covering essential effects chains - distortion, modulation, and time-based effects - alongside four additional FX processors for EQ shaping and gain staging. The bundle integrates seven cabinet emulations derived from industry-standard impulse responses, plus an IR player for custom convolution loading. This architecture allows engineers to audition different amplifier and speaker combinations without leaving the plugin interface.

The suite is purpose-built for metal production workflows. Rather than attempting broad versatility across genres, Ugritone has optimized each amp model for specific metal subgenres, with preset banks reflecting authentic tonal references from 4 to 8 dedicated starting points per amp. This specialization makes the bundle most effective for metal-focused producers and mixing engineers already familiar with amp modeling workflows.
The download footprint of approximately 800MB remains reasonable for modern systems. For professionals requiring genre-specific amp emulations without excessive parameter bloat, the Ampenstein bundle provides genuine utility. Its narrow focus distinguishes it from broader amp sim competitors, making it valuable primarily for metal-oriented production contexts.
