About this plugin
AIR's Vocal Tuner brings automatic pitch correction to MPC ecosystems with a design philosophy that prioritizes both transparency and character. The plugin employs real-time pitch detection and correction across a configurable scale and key framework, allowing users to lock vocals to specific harmonic structures or apply more generalized tuning across the chromatic spectrum.
The sonic character distinguishes itself through flexible retune speed controls, which govern how aggressively the algorithm corrects pitch deviation. Slower settings yield transparent, naturalistic correction suitable for contemporary pop and R&B productions where subtle intonation refinement preserves vocal nuance. Faster settings push toward the deliberately processed sound common in modern rap and electronic music, where robotic pitch shifting becomes an aesthetic choice rather than a corrective tool.

The detection behavior parameters address a common challenge in automatic tuning: distinguishing intentional vibrato and expression from genuine pitch issues. This granular control prevents the plugin from over-correcting artistic phrasing while maintaining reliable pitch locking on problematic notes.
The Vocal Tuner occupies pragmatic middle ground within the pitch correction landscape. It lacks the surgical precision of melodyne-style tools or the aesthetic extremes of extreme autotune variants, positioning itself as a practical workhorse for producers and engineers working within MPC's ecosystem who need dependable, musically sensible pitch correction without excessive processing artifacts.
For MPC users seeking integrated, intuitive pitch correction without external plugin dependencies, this tool delivers functional capability with respectable sound quality across genre applications.
