Stage EP

Stage EP is a meticulously sampled electric piano plugin that captures the harmonic complexity and mechanical character of five canonical EP models. Rather than attempting digital emulation, AIR's engineering team recorded each instrument across multiple velocity layers and dynamic ranges, preserving the tonal idiosyncrasies that defined decades of recorded music.

The plugin's core instruments span the essential electric piano lineage. The Classic E-Piano models reproduce the struck tuning fork mechanism that generates the characteristic metallic growl and natural sustain, with the Hot variant adding gain staging to amplify harmonic saturation. The Suitcase variant models the amplified, bell-toned variant popular in 1970s jazz and funk sessions. The Wurli engine draws from struck string and reed technology, yielding a vibraphonelike sweetness distinct from traditional tine designs. The Pianet rounds out the collection with a softer, leather-on-metal contact character suited to restrained passages.

Beyond sampling, Stage EP incorporates acoustic modeling and FM synthesis layers, allowing producers to blend authentic sample-based tones with parametric sound design. This hybrid approach grants genuine flexibility without sacrificing the nuanced resonance that makes original hardware compelling.

Stage EP serves producers working across jazz, funk, soul, and contemporary pop who demand period-authentic textures or the particular harmonic personality that sampled EPs provide.
