About this plugin
DeBleed:Drums Upgrade from DeBleed:Snare represents a comprehensive expansion of Acon Digital's mic spill removal toolkit, extending beyond snare-specific processing to address the full drum kit. The plugin employs neural network technology paired with DSP algorithms to isolate individual drum elements - kicks, toms, and cymbals - while preserving transient clarity and kit resonance that conventional noise gates typically compromise.
The core technical advantage lies in its intelligent triggering logic, which establishes context-aware thresholds rather than applying static gating. This approach minimizes the artifacts associated with traditional gates: choked hits, lost ghost notes, and unnatural pumping. The result is transparent spill reduction that maintains the natural dynamics and character of recorded drums.

For mixing engineers working with close-miked drum kits in less-than-ideal acoustic environments, DeBleed:Drums addresses a genuine workflow bottleneck. Studio professionals accustomed to sample replacement or painstaking manual editing will find significant time savings, particularly when tracking drums with multiple overhead and individual mic channels where bleed is inevitable.
The plugin's standing within the broader category of drum processing tools is notable. While specialized de-bleed solutions remain relatively rare, DeBleed:Drums competes effectively against general-purpose noise gates and time-consuming manual alternatives. It's particularly valuable for engineers prioritizing sonic authenticity over aggressive processing.
This upgrade path makes sense for existing DeBleed:Snare users seeking comprehensive kit control, offering a logical expansion without redundant functionality. For new users, the full DeBleed:Drums version remains the more practical entry point.
