About this plugin
Audio Blast's AcidBox V2 is a faithful software recreation of the Roland TB-303, engineered for modern production workflows. The plugin captures the 303's characteristically squelchy, resonant bass synthesis through analog-modeled oscillators and a voltage-controlled filter with authentic self-oscillation behavior. The interface modernizes the hardware's workflow substantially, replacing tedious real-time knob twisting with intuitive step sequencing that accommodates 16 to 64 steps per pattern.
The sequencer supports multiple sync modes - host, internal, MIDI, and Arp - allowing flexible integration into both DAW and live setups. The 32-pattern library provides adequate variation for structured compositions, while on-the-fly MIDI recording eliminates the need for external controllers during creative sessions. The sonic palette extends beyond pure acid through five distortion algorithms and a feature-complete delay unit with ping-pong stereo options.

The included effects architecture yields surprisingly usable results across electronic genres, though the distortion units are more utilitarian than character-defining. Sequence import / export functionality in multiple formats facilitates collaboration and archival, a practical feature often overlooked in competing plugins.
AcidBox V2 suits producers working in techno, house, and acid-influenced genres who want immediate 303 emulation without hardware investment or complex parameter navigation. Its stepping sequencer and MIDI integration make it serviceable for both in-the-box production and live performance. While not as sonically nuanced as some higher-end analog modeling tools, the AcidBox V2 delivers authentic acid synthesis with genuine workflow advantages over the original hardware.
