About this plugin
The eMotion LV1 represents Waves' most comprehensive approach to digital live sound mixing, functioning as a full-featured software console rather than a traditional plugin. Built on a 32-bit, double-precision audio engine, it delivers the headroom and low-noise floor essential for professional live applications, whether handling stadium shows or intimate venue broadcasts.
The mixer's real strength lies in its deep integration with Waves' plugin ecosystem. Users can instantiate up to eight SoundGrid-compatible plugins per channel, drawing from Waves' catalog of 200+ processors without the latency concerns that plague standard DAW-based approaches. The included live-optimized eMo channel strips provide practical signal chain management, while support for the Dugan Speech automixer plugin ensures intelligibility-focused mixing becomes straightforward.

Accommodating up to 32 stereo channels with customizable layer creation, eMotion LV1 scales from smaller productions to complex multi-input scenarios. Its ability to network multiple servers, stage boxes, and converters while maintaining sample rates from 44.1 to 96 kHz makes it genuinely flexible for diverse touring requirements. Native support for industry-standard controllers and remote operation via mobile devices positions operators away from fixed consoles.
This tool suits professionals managing shows where studio-quality processing justifies a software-based workflow, particularly those already invested in Waves plugins. It occupies distinct territory between traditional analog consoles and lightweight digital mixers, demanding some technical proficiency but rewarding users with unprecedented creative control and familiar plugin ecosystems. For sound engineers accustomed to DAW-based production, the transition proves natural.
