About this plugin
The Abbey Road TG Mastering Chain brings Waves' emulation of the legendary EMI TG12410 Transfer Console to your DAW, capturing the sonic character that shaped decades of releases from the world's most storied mastering facility. This is a historically significant tool: the original hardware defined Abbey Road's approach to mastering, processing everything from Pink Floyd to contemporary releases by Ed Sheeran and beyond.
The plugin models the complete signal chain with five modular sections - Input, Tone, Compression/Limiting, Filter/EQ, and Output/Stereo Spread - all reorderable for custom processing chains. The Tone section delivers the characteristic warmth and harmonic coloration central to Abbey Road's house sound, while dual compression modes (Original and Modern) provide both the aggressive character of the vintage hardware and a more transparent limiting option suited to contemporary masters. The linear phase filters at 48 dB/Oct offer surgical control without phase distortion.

What sets this plugin apart is its flexibility and the depth of the modeling. You can work in stereo, dual-mono, or mid-side processing, expanding individual modules for granular control. The 170 included presets from established mix engineers provide useful starting points without dictating your approach.
This tool suits mastering engineers, mix bus processors seeking vintage character, and producers looking to impart Abbey Road's particular sonic signature to individual elements. Among comparable mastering chains, it stands out for both its heritage lineage and the thoughtfulness of the design - Waves clearly understood what made the original console valued, rather than simply modeling specs. The included TG Meter Bridge adds practical utility for critical listening.
